Downtown Yonge BIA
Client Profile:
Downtown Yonge BIA had begun to experience tremendous growth and change. At the forefront of that shift, the BIA wanted to provide a value-for-money resource to assist property owners lease space. We developed a retail recruitment toolkit for Downtown Yonge BIA and updated it twice based on the concept of Any Time; One Place. Later we created a main street prioritization matrix that assessed key attributes the street needed to be successful.
Scope of Work:
Project I
• Developed a profile for each major target market to determine their size, what types of goods and services they were looking for in Downtown, and their expenditure potential
• Assessed retail strengths, mapped key anchors, and connected the dots between target markets, retail mix, and highlighted retail gaps and opportunities
• Documented parking availability
• Reviewed pedestrian counts
• Reviewed new and proposed developments
• Documented the services available from the BIA to assist new businesses establish themselves
Project II
• Provided a weighting and prioritization for each factor on its applicability to Downtown Yonge and key learning implications
